Carl has served as the Asset Manager for The 808 since February of 2021 when Lamar and Shari talked him out of retirement to help build their vision for the ranch. Through his career, Carl built a reputation for producing consistently in-demand Angus calves. After graduating from Texas AM (Ag Econ) in 1978, Carl Steiger, Lamar’s oldest brother, personally selected GK Discovery (1982 National Champion) as a young bull to be the first herd sire a JAC’s Ranch. Next he worked in NW Missouri at Glenkirk Farms, the industry leader in carcass quality and Great Genetics.  Carl then managed Pearson Land & Cattle at Rich Hill, Missouri for nearly 30 years establishing a reputation for producing consistently in-demand Angus calves. Carl then quit retirement to work with Lamar and Shari on the brothers' lifelong dream to ranch together again. Carl has acquired decades of experience in the industry and brings his unique expertise, enthusiasm and hospitality to The 808 Ranch.
